LOOPING

Looping is a process that enables an infant that enrolls at NDCC now to have the same teacher(s) for the next three years at the Center. Recent brain research is telling us that brain development from birth to three years old is significantly affected by the number and quality of the attachments that children make to their caregivers. A small number of primary caregivers and firm attachments result in greater brain development. When children enroll at NDCC (at as young as six weeks old) they join a loop of children and teachers that will become their "home away from home" for the next three years.

Upon transition to our Prescholar preschool program one "looping" teacher continues on with the children as they adjust to their preschool experiences first in Prescholar and then in 4Learning. The looping teacher knows each child and their learning styles intimately. There is no need to "learn the child" before we can teach. The looping teacher usually has the opportunity to move with the children from Prescholar to 4Learning dependent upon class size and staffing needs.
