Northern Door Children's Center has two Sun Rooms. Sun 1 is home to our youngest infants and Sun 2 is home to our older infants.

Infants all operate on individual schedules. It is our goal to work as closely as possible with parents to be consistent with a child's eating, sleeping, playing schedule so that it is a seamless transition from home to the Center.

All infants have individual lesson/activity plans prepared for them based on their developmental level and focusing on milestones to be accomplished next.

A daily written report of each child's eating, sleeping, diapering and play activities is completed by the child's teacher and sent home with the child.

The Sign2Me Program, in which infants begin to communicate through basic American Sign Language, is introduced in the Sun Rooms. This promotes preverbal communication and is shared with parents so that it can be used both at home and at the Center.
