Welcome to Northern Door Children’s Center

Northern Door Children’s Center in Sister Bay is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing quality primary care in a safe, secure environment that enhances personal growth and educational development for the children of Northern Door County in partnership with parents and the community.

Northern Door Children’s Center has been committed to serving the Door County community for over 25 years. Founded by a group of caring and forward-thinking parents to provide quality child care services for their children, NDCC has grown as a community Early Childhood Education Center, but the commitment to offering quality child care in a safe, nurturing environment has never wavered.

After many years of operation in the Old Sister Bay Schoolhouse, NDCC moved to their present facility, just down the road at the comer of Hwy. 57 and Country Walk Lane. The new facility allowed the year round enrollment to increase from 58 children per day to 112 children per day, and provides ample room for the school-age program in the summer months (another 34 children!)

The importance of quality child care and early childhood education and NDCC in particular, to the Northern Door Community can never be minimized. Certainly the students benefit from the safe, structured, learning environment offered by the professionally trained staff that NDCC provides. The children develop strong inter-personal skills and form friendships and that last into adulthood. In turn, families benefit from interacting with other families who have children and from feedback and support provided by NOCC. The economy and Door County’s many employers are positively impacted as well, by the parents who are able to participate in the workforce because NDCC exists. And Door County’s retired citizens benefit from having a stable base of younger, year-round residents to assist with their needs as they age.
